CAMPAIGNS AND FEATURE WRITING
A closer look at some of my most impactful work that closely tied to a variety of strategic initiatives:
COVID-19 RESPONSE
Highlighting stories of cooperation, innovation, and collaboration – my team generated over 5 million organic impressions, and flipped overall sentiment from negative to positive in 48 hours after deciding to close down. Our digital content creation also helped spur national media coverage.
THE ELLENÂ SHOW COMES TO GEORGIA TECH
I leveraged working relationships with producers at the Ellen Show to coordinate a live shot on campus to give away Super Bowl Tickets. The event not only offered free national television exposure, but also was a positive event for connecting with our own community. We were able to find a location within 3 hours, coordinate our own social media, and work with the shows producers to execute the liveshot.
#WHEREISBUZZ? CAMPAIGN
This immersive and interactive social media campaign involved sending a pop-apart and build version of our mascot and sending it to thousands of prospective students, encouraging them to post pictures on social media. The campaign drove up traffic on our admissions pages over 85% and generated 151,000+ Twitter and Instagram timeline deliveries.
PRESIDENT'S FIRST DAY
I led a multidisciplinary team to execute a communications strategy and plan for our institution's new president. The idea was to present him as approachable and connected, so we followed him on his first day, posting pictures and video in real time. We chronicled him experiencing traditions, meeting with staff and students, and even changing his license plate. It allowed our community to be involved and engage with us. The campaign generated over 350,000 unique impressions across web and social in 24 hours.
COMMENCEMENT LIVE
In a groundbreaking undertaking for any college or university, we organized and launched an hour-long show that simulcasts online, on social, and to all the guests in our arena waiting for our Commencement Ceremony. The broadcast allows us to highlight our students and featured speakers while keeping our guests entertained, and all while sharing the incredible narrative of our institution. Now several institutions have sought us out to help them replicate our broadcast.
NATIONAL EXPOSURE
National Media Roundtable: 10 Years After Hurricane Katrina
I served as emcee as Georgia Tech partnered with the National Academy of Engineering in Washington D.C. to host a panel of experts to discuss the nation's preparedness for natural disaster in the 10-year wake of Hurricane Katrina's landfall. U.S. News & World Report, the Associated Press, the Washington Post, and the Wall Street Journal attended.
